Keep baby cosy and cute in our Baby Bonnet and Bootie set in Mulberry. An adorable set for announcement photos. Handmade from soft 100% organic cotton, designed as an oversized “chunky knit” style for newborns that will fit for longer. Booties have an adjustable drawstring around the ankle to tighten to avoid slipping off.

Comes in a drawstring cotton canvas bag for storage, which can be reused for other special things.

Please note that our bonnet and bootie sets are handmade, they may have slight imperfections - but I feel like this is what makes them special.

I'm Kassie, a mum of 2, wife, artist, and all-around creative soul with a passion for everything pregnancy, birth, matrescence, and motherhood. It is an honour to have you here, supporting me and reading our story.

The M&P seed was planted with a new job, a growing family, and the realisation that sometimes life takes us on unexpected paths. I know this firsthand. When I was pregnant with my first baby I was navigating and loving my career as a radiographer. But life had its own plans. Challenges arose, and maternity leave became a battleground. It was a wake-up call to create something that mattered and something that supported myself, my little family and other mums.

As I balanced work, life, and two young daughters, Milk & Poppy emerged as a tribute to the magic of motherhood. Through the ups and downs, I discovered that being a mum means being part of a remarkable community, and that's the spirit I've infused into every aspect of Milk & Poppy.

With a hell of a lotta support from my husband Aaron, I birthed Milk & Poppy into existence to meet a need I felt deeply. We didn't know the gender of either of our babies, and I noticed a wide gap in the market that yearned to be filled with my own unique artwork and designs. During my maternity leave with Aubrey, I started to curate and bring this little dream of mine to life.

The launch of Milk & Poppy came just one week after our second babe, Penelope, joined our family. Talk about diving in headfirst! But this brand is a labor of love, a piece of my heart extended to you. The thought of mamas strolling around, using my designs to fuel their journey through motherhood? It leaves me speechless.

Now, nestled into our riverside home in Maitland, New South Wales, I let my artistic side roam free, resulting in every piece you see being hand-drawn by me. Each product carries a piece of my heart and my dream.

Motherhood is a surreal journey. There are highs and lows, sleepless nights and overwhelming love. Add owning and running a small business to the mix… life is pretty chaotic around here! I’m definitely a hot mess 99% of the time 😂 But I love it, and I hope you love it too. I'm so proud of this creation and deeply humbled by your support.

So from the bottom of my heart, thank you for being a part of this adventure. Your presence makes Milk & Poppy whole 🧡

With Love,
Kassie, Aaron, Aubrey, Penny and the growing Milk & Poppy team!

What's in the name 'Milk & Poppy'

Both times that we have found out we were pregnant - at 4 weeks -  our little loves were the size of a 'poppy' seed. Milk is what nourishes our babies, and I'm always so amazed with breastfeeding - it's been a huge part of my motherhood journey and the word 'milk' just makes me think of mama and baby.
Hence Milk & Poppy (plus it just sounds good
😉)
Fun fact though, I actually have a phobia of milk called galactophobia. I know it sounds crazy that it's in my business name
😂 but I can handle the name of it - just not a glass of it!
